The Discovery Room sits inside the Visitor Center and works great for smaller presentations and hands-on activities. It’s cozy but has enough room for things like our antler scoring program, where students can really dig in and get their hands on something.
The Great Room is packed with interactive exhibits covering the animals that call Pennsylvania home, elk front and center of course. There’s also a 4D sensory theater that takes students on a full immersive journey through Pennsylvania’s elk herd. And when it’s time to get outside, the nature trails and outdoor classroom give students a chance to explore the landscape firsthand.
The Parker Outdoor Classroom steps things up for bigger groups, with capacity for up to 150 visitors at a time. The building itself is worth talking about. It’s LEED Gold Certified and features a biomass boiler, radiant in-floor heat, and a stunning stone fireplace hand-crafted from rock pulled right off the property. Groups can learn about the building’s environmentally friendly design alongside all of our other educational programs. It’s the kind of place where the building teaches just as much as the people inside it.
There’s something here for every age and every curiosity. Come see for yourself.
