Ron served as KECA’s founding Board Vice-Chairman from 2010 thru 2017 and founded the Brokenstraw Chapter in 2010. His entire working career of 44 years was spent with the same Pennsylvania copper manufacturing company, Electric Materials. During those years he had the opportunity to work in many facets of the business including production, Sales, Purchasing Manager, Human Resources Manager, Vice-President Operations and retiring as President.
Ron is firmly committed to KECA and its mission, particularly the Conservation Education aspect because of his strong desire to see young people become interested and involved in the outdoors. He sees KECA’s excellent staff as a very strong component in KECA’s success as well as a stalwart group of volunteers that get things done.
Ron and his wife of 49 years, Bonnie, have been regular visitors to Pennsylvania Elk Country for 30 years and enjoy hiking, photography and spending time with friends while there. They enjoy traveling throughout the U.S. seeing all this great country has to offer. They reside in Bear Lake, PA and have two adult children, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
