Event Details

KECA is proud to announce the 1st Annual Wapiti Waddle Duck Race! On May 29th, our ducks will take a swim in Bennett’s Branch in the village of Benezette and race to the finish line where someone will be the top finisher and receive a $1000 cash prize! The ducks will drop from the foot bridge crossing Trout Run and float towards the Bennett’s Branch (behind the Benezett Store). They will then cross the finish line just past the Station Road Bridge. The first 3 finishers will win $1000, $500, and $250 respectively and the very last duck to cross the finish line will win $50 too! We will also have lots of other prizes to be drawn the day of the event. The fun kicks off in town Benezette at KECA’s Gurney Volunteer House at 9am with music, raffles, games, and DUCK Merchandise.  The race will commence at Noon and then the Wapiti Waddle Festival will follow race at the Elk Country Visitor Center until 4pm.   At the Elk Country Visitor Center, there will be vendors, food, live music, and more!

Winner need not be present to win. All Online Sales will end Thursday May 27th at 7PM. Ducks can be adopted (purchased) through the Elk Country Visitor Center until Saturday May 29th (Day of the event) and online through our Website’s Gift Shop too!
