Everyone has their own method when scouting the woods for sheds; join us here at the Elk Country Visitor Center as we discuss some of our most effective methods. Also learn why antlers drop each year and get some tips on where to search!

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner the Elk County Visitor Center is celebrating the theme of love. Many species, including ones in Pennsylvania “mate for life”. These birds and mammals are devoted to their partners, and in some cases stay with them until they die. Love is in the air and it’s also in the Elk Country Visitor Center, so come on down and learn about our amazing wildlife!

Make a fun paper craft with one of our ConEd staff members, as we talk about the people who leave tracks on our hearts and how elk show their love to each other. This program is a make and take craft for all ages.

Come join our staff as we make keychains using paracord. Paracord has many uses in survival situations. All materials will be provided for this make and take craft.

It’s that time of year! Our large fuzzy black bears are “hibernating” for the winter. While a long nap may seem fun, black bear sows are experiencing the joys of newly born cubs. Join us as we talk about black bears and take a look at the action in the dens.
