Now, rather than the weather driven wildfires of 100 years ago, certified resource managers use fire strategically to shape habitats now and into the future. Learn how and why prescribed fire is used with Pete Zoschg, a Firing Boss in the Elk State Forest.

Everyone is thrilled to when they see huge bull elk with their giant antlers. During this popular program learn many amazing facts about these spectacular weapons of defense. Handle many sets of huge antlers as you participate in an informative follow-up question-answer session.

It’s time for arts and crafts at the Elk Country Visitor Center! Join our staff in painting a rock of your choosing to create, a one-of-a-kind, souvenir of your very own!!

Experience the beautiful night sky over Elk Country! Enjoy stories about the stars, a laser- guided tour of constellations, views of the planets and stars through a telescope, and information about preserving the night sky from light pollution. Please, bring a blanket or chair to sit on during the program. This program will be cancelled in the event of poor weather.
