Join David and Fay Hauber as they use bird banding to explore some of the bird life at The Elk County Visitors Center.  Learn the whys and wherefores of Bird Banding with close-up encounters.  Watch as David catches and bands some of our feathered friends that call the area home.

This program will include, and hopefully demonstrate, how Pennsylvania State Game Wardens safely process Black Bears. Paton will also speak about why the PGC traps bears, how we use the data we collected from trapping, and how the community can do its part to coexist with our bear population.

Join a staff member as we hike the trails around the Elk Country Visitor Center. Learn many interesting facts about the property and wildlife that often inhabit these fields. We will be covering topics such as what elk eat, where they spend their time, and how each season brings something different. Bring some good shoes and come explore with us!
